A busy old time for TOOM

The TOOM crew have been very busy writing new material and recording lately, but we’ve still managed to squeeze in lots of gigs. Newport’s fabulous LePub, Penarth Exies, Jac’s, The Green Rooms, Hopkinstown Community Hall and the stunningly refurbished Muni are some of the great venues which have hosted us.

We headlined at LePub in December for the Raise the Roof gig with our friends The January Dead and Red Joker. We absolutely loved the venue and the great crowd. Between us, we managed to raise over £1500 for Macmillan. Manager Alisha told us “you’re weird but I like you”.

It was lovely to be back at The Green Rooms in January, for another headline gig. We always get a warm reception there and we were greatful for the filming Colin did for us. Pixie’s spider throwing skills were on point as she cleverly landed an eight legged beast in  a crowd member’s cleavage.

Our February highlight was our gig at Pontypridd’s Y Muni. The recent refurbishment is absolutely stunning and it was great to play on such a big stage where we actually had room to move around! We shared the bill with two amazing bands – Kinellmun and The Brass Bambees

We graced Penarth Exies and Hopkinstown Community Hall with our presence in March. We shared the bill with Determinism in Penarth. They’re a great bunch of boys and this is the second time we’ve played with them as they’re also regulars at The Green Rooms. Kick Out the Jams Disco accompanied us in Hopkinstown. As usual, there were spiders galore and a very clever Sandra won the Morph contest.

What an honour it was to support La Villa Strangiato at Jac's in April. Hobbit was like a kid in a toy shop as he used their drum kit. We had our fair share of technical problems but the crowd were great! We were accompanied by our very naughty Shwnidygon and lots of amazing plastiscine.

Next up, we are pleased to be opening the Rhondda Arts Festival (RAFT) in June.
