Hallowe’en gig at Clwb y Bont was “hwyl a sbri”
It was a full house once again on November 1st as The Origin of Machines returned to Clwb y Bont for a second time. We shared the bill with our bonkers and enthusiastic mates Head Noise.
It was great to see you all dressed up in your creepy costumes. Our usual amazing supporters were there, for which we are very grateful. Great to see you singing along and enjoying yourselves. It was also nice to see some first timers, such as Ponty legends Big Sharon, Dawny Pong and Linda the Legs. We hope we didn’t scare you too much! We were accompanied onstage by our unglamorous assistant Eleri who did a great job flipping the lyric chart so you could all sing along to the choruses, throwing spiders and catching that bloody Shwnidygon.
Pixie managed not to trip over her very long wedding dress whilst dressed as Lydia Deetz in the wedding scene from Beetlejuice. The boys and Eleri dressed as Beetlejuice and looked marvellous.
It was a privilege to play some new material (to most of you!) such as Concrete Frog, which is about a famous local murder (more about the murder on our blog).
Once again, the plasticine competition was very popular and we gave out lots of creepy prizes.
If you weren’t lucky enough to get the chance to buy a t-shirt on the night, they are available in our “merch” section for a bargain £15. What a lovely Christmas gift they’d be for someone you love. Or hate. Or fancy. Or for yourself!
See you at the next one. Watch out for that bloody Shwnidygon!
