The Origin of Machines support Ant Trouble

The Origin of Machines supported the brilliant Ant Trouble in November in Clwb y Bont. Tickets sold out quickly with many disappointed punters turned away at the door. The intimate nature of the venue was ideal for audience participation and they definitely participated! It was great to see so many people from the last gig come back for more TOOM madness. By now, they knew some of the choruses and belted them out with the enthusiasm of a dog in a butcher’s shop.

Spiders was met with enthusiasm and shock in equal measure, with some eco-friendly audience members collecting the plastic spiders thrown from the stage for the next gig. The audience were once again very amused at Station’s stealth pants exposure in “Pixie’s Pants”. Fans Bonnie and Karen helped the band out by flipping the flip chart between songs. Once again, the plasticine offerings during “And Justice for Morph” were the work of genius and included Pontypridd’s Rocking Stone, some pants, Wellington boots, several animals, some tits and lots of willies.

Audience member Scottie (formerly of the brilliant Oi band Symbol of Freedom) later wrote on Facebook “How times change. Forty years ago, Amanda Leyshon (Pixie) used to come and watch me sing. Tonight I went to see her. She did a much better job than me...Spiders!”

Again, all was not smooth as we had a couple of sound issues. These issues were nothing compared to Ant Trouble’s set, however, when the entire audience had to leave the building due to a fire alarm. Ever the Professional, singer Mitch entertained the crowd outside in the rain until the club was deemed safe again.

The band would like to thank photographer Andrew Edwards (Big Ed) for kindly taking photographs at the gig.
